Giornale Main Settings

Giornale Main Settings > Color Scheme

From this section you can manage the color scheme of Giornale

  1. Body Color Schemes
    You can select one of available color scheme.

Giornale Main Settings > News ticker

From this section you can manage the newsticker.

  1. Enable the newsticker
    You can enable the newsticker
  2. News ticker category
    You can select the category of the news ticker
  3. News ticker orderby
    You can select how to order the articles.
    – Post title
    – Randomly
    – Comment count
    – Post date
  4. News ticker sort order
    You can select the order of the articles.
    – Ascending
    – Descending
  5. News ticker limit
    You can set the limit of the news ticker

Giornale Main Settings > Topbar section

From this section you can manage the topbar.

  1. Right columns
    You can select the element to show on right column.
    – Show the topbar text
    – Show the secondary menu
    – Show the social icons
  2. Topbar text
    You can set the topbar text
  3. Date format
    You can set the date format

Giornale Main Settings > Recent posts grid

From this section you can manage recent posts grid on the homepage.

  1. Enable or disable the recent posts grid
  2. Exclude the recent posts grid from the main homepage article loop (if the recent posts grid is enabled)
  3. Show the recent posts grid only on the first page of pagination on your homepage. Enable this option to display the recent posts grid exclusively on the first page.
  4. Post author label
    You can edit the label of post author

Giornale Main Settings > Trending posts

From this section you can manage trending posts on the homepage.

  1. Enable or disable the trending posts
  2. Show the trending posts only on the first page of pagination on your homepage. Enable this option to display the trending posts exclusively on the first page.
  3. Enable or disable the title of trending posts section
  4. Insert the title of trending posts section
  5. Select the category of the trending posts
  6. Trending posts orderby
    You can select how to order the articles.
    – ID
    – Author
    – Post title
    – Post date
    – Number of comments
  7. Trending posts sort order
    You can select the order of the articles.
    – Ascending
    – Descending
  8. Trending posts images layout
    You can select the layout for the trending posts images.
    – Round images
    – Square images
  9. Edit the label of post author

Giornale Main Settings > Recommended posts grid

From this section you can manage the recommended posts grid on the homepage.

  1. Enable or disable the recommended posts grid
  2. Show the recommended posts grid only on the first page of pagination on your homepage. Enable this option to display the recommended posts grid exclusively on the first page.
  3. Enable or disable the title of recommended posts section
  4. Insert the title of recommended posts section
  5. Recommended posts style
    You can select a style for the recommended posts section.
    – Light style
    – Grey style
    – Dark style
  6. Recommended posts layout
    You can select a layout for the recommended posts section.

  7. Select the category of the recommended posts

Giornale Main Settings > General settings

From this section you can manage the general settings of Giornale

  1. Enable or disable the underline below the section titles
  2. Enable or disable the secondary menu within the scrollable sidebar on mobile devices
  3. Enable or disable the breadcrumb
  4. Enable or disable a label before the list of recent posts on the homepage
  5. Show the homepage label only on the first page of pagination on your homepage. Enable this option to display the homepage label exclusively on the first page.
  6. Replace the default label before the list of recent posts on the homepage
  7. Enable or disable the category title
  8. Enable or disable the searched item
  9. Enable or disable the back to top button

Giornale Main Settings > Single posts settings

  1. Enable or disable the post categories
  2. Enable or disable the post icon
  3. Enable or disable the author name
  4. Replace the default label of post author
  5. Enable or disable the post date

From this section you can manage the settings of WooCommerce.

  1. Enable or disable the header cart
  2. Enable or disable the cross sell products on cart page
  3. Enable or disable the related products on product page
  4. Enable or disable the up sell products on product page
  5. Make linkable the product thumbnails on WooCommerce category pages
  6. Choose the layout of WooCommerce categories

From this section you can manage the layouts of Giornale

  1. Set a different layout for homepage: full width, left or right sidebar, masonry layout
  2. Set a different layout for categories: full width, left or right sidebar, masonry layout
  3. Set a different layout for search result: full width, left or right sidebar, masonry layout
  4. Set a different layout for the read more button

Giornale Main Settings > Copyright and social links

From this section you can manage the copyright text and social links

  1. Add the copyright text
  2. Manage the social links (max 4 buttons)
  3. Enable or disable the feed RSS button

Giornale Featured links

Featured links settings

From this section you can enable the featured links section

Giornale Featured links > Featured Link item (max 3)

From this section you can manage the settings of each featured link

  1. Image
    you can select an image for each featured link from your WordPress media folder
  2. Title
    you can insert a title for each featured link
  3. URL
    you can insert the URL for each featured link

Giornale Typography

Giornale Typography > Logo

From this section you can manage the typography of the logo.

  1. Logo top margin
    You can add a space between the topmenu and the logo
  2. Logo font size
    You can set the size of logo
  3. Logo description font size
    You can set the size of logo description
  4. Description top margin
    You can add a space between the logo and the description
  5. Description top bottom
    You can add a space between the description and the main menu

Giornale Typography > Menu

From this section you can manage the typography of the menu.

  1. Menu font size
    You can set the size of main menu
  2. Menu weight
    You can choose the font weight for the menu
  3. Text transform
    You can display an uppercase menu

Giornale Typography > Content

From this section you can manage the typography of the content

Giornale Typography > Headlines

From this section you can manage the typography of the headlines

  1. Headlines font size
    You can set the size of each headline (h1,h2,h3,h4,h5,h6)
  2. Headlines weight
    You can choose the font weight for the headlines
  3. Headlines transform
    You can display an uppercase title

Giornale Typography > Post meta

  1. Font size
    You can set the size of post meta
  2. Text transform
    You can display the post meta in uppercase

How to manage the post formats

When you choose YES under Giornale Main Settings > General Settings > Post Format, please follow the instructions below to configure properly these post formats:

  • Link post format use the post title as link name and the first link on the post content as link, if available, or the post permalink.
  • Quote post format use the post title as author name and the post content as author quote.

How to translate a WordPress theme

We suggest Poedit, to translate Giornale theme. It’s available for free on poedit.net.

Open Poedit, go to File > New from POT file and choose giornale.pot , under giornale/languages/ and choose your native language.

When you’ve finished, upload bot files with your language code (for example it_IT.po and it_IT.mo ), under the language folder of Giornale using a FTP client.
